Business sector
The business sector brings together students, teachers and researchers from the business departments of the institutions of higher education in the Barents region. The work of the sector includes meetings, seminars, preparation of virtual teaching material, training and research projects.
The aim is to attain a close and active cooperation between of the Finnish, Norwegian and Swedish partner institutions in Russia competence training, active information transfer and combining of special know-how of Russia and trade and commerce know-how. The aim is also to get a deep understanding in the business culture in the four countries and in this way to increase the number of competent Barents specialists and the ability to cooperate across the borders of the countries.
The network provides the students, teachers and researchers with valid information and know-how on different business operations in Russia and thus enhances the development of cross-border cooperation in the Barents region.
With help of the research the business sector will provide up-to-date information for the needs of the SME’s about the special characteristics of the business environment in the Barents region. The research will focus on the Russian trade and business culture, the characteristics of the economy in North West Russia, legal foundations of Russian economy and SME’s and trade in North West Russia.
